Concours d’Elegance Australia 10-10-10 Off to a Roaring Start
BEST OF SHOW - 1927 HISPANO-SUIZA H6B

A picturesque sunny day at St Patrick’s Estate in Manly on Sunday 10 October was the setting for the magnificent and overwhelmingly successful first Concours d’Elegance Australia.

With over 200 luxury cars and motorcycles on display, motoring enthusiasts were treated to an array of rare and unique classic and prestige vehicles.

There was something for everyone on the day with the crowds entertained by Australian icons Glenn Shorrock and Kamahl, a fashion parade by Charlie Brown, a fashions on the field competition, ladies marquee and beautiful lifestyle and automotive product displays.

Sam Movizio, Chairman of Concours d’Elegance Australia confirmed the success of the inaugural 10-10-10 event stating that “the day epitomised a typical Concours d’Elegance with ‘style, fashion and elegance’ the important ingredients for an entertaining and memorable event.”

Whilst many of the vehicles were there vying for the ultimate status of “Best of Show”, others were on display purely to be admired alongside their proud owners, and admired they were.

In excess of 4,000 spectators were given the opportunity to walk the grounds at their leisure and get up close to the vehicles. A promenade parade on the red carpet and a trophy presentation ceremony were enjoyed by all.

“The stunning collection of cars and motorcycles on display matched the grandeur of the St Patrick’s Estate, blending beauty and heritage with magnificent beach and ocean views” Movizio said.

Special guest judges included international racing car legend and five times Le Mans winner Derek Bell MBE and Australian racing car driver Rusty French. Whilst everyone was a winner on the day, there could only be one “Best of Show” vehicle and that was taken out by George Fernandez’s 1927 Hispano-Suiza H6B.

Concours d’Elegance Australia was preceded by a delightful cocktail party the evening prior where guests were entertained by 2009’s “Australia’s Got Talent” winner Mark Vincent and country singer Melinda Schneider with almost $10,000 raised for Concours d’Elegance Australia’s charities on the night.

Plans are already underway for the 2nd Annual Concours d’Elegance Australia with a date and venue to be announced shortly. If this year’s event is anything to go by, the next event will be an even more dazzling display of style, fashion and elegance.
